Yeah, I went to another convention outside of Maine (first one was at Boston of 2003) because I had to see what Connecticut's huge ass convention was all about.
First, it was a HUGE place. Two buildings with the event panels, workshops, game and dealer rooms going on. I got lost on where to go to see some of the cool panels Saturday morning (but manage to see two of them that I REALLY wanted to see, so yay!). And you better need to take breaks between walking because your legs and feet will be sore as fuck within the first few hours. I should know because when I got back home, my feet were swollen.
Second of all, they had a lot of awesome guests that Portcon or the comic convention at Maine didn't had like Jennifer Hale, Richard Horivitz, Ellen McLain, the boys from Marble Hornets and such. It was cool to see them at their booths to sign and take photos of their fans. I got to meet Jennifer (after failing to see her two panels on Saturday due to being lost in the con ), Troy, Tim and Joseph and got their photos and their signatures. Best awesome folks I ever got to meet.
But the best part was meeting Jordan AKA TelekineticPuppeteer for the first time after being internet pen pals for 15 years. She was 30 minutes away from the convention when she landed from California but didn't went to the Thursday or Friday's events due to traveling issues to get there...until I suggested to pick her up and go on Saturday.
Smart move I ever made and we had a good crazy time. Most awkward incident I had that I thought I lost my sister's old digital camera at the convention to the point I asked the hotel staff to search for it...until I found it back at my hotel room. I return the day after and told the staff to call off the search after I told them I found the thing.
So after missing out a few panels, a silly stupid missing item search and all, Jordan and I had a blast and got a few photos (and three gift drawings I made) when I was at the convention. Be sure to look out for them in your message center!
